Gender plays a huge rule in spanish..it can be confusing!
Male articles: el,un,ello,ellos,uns.
Female articles: la, una, ella,ellas,unas.
1.o --> a
ex. amigo --> amiga
2.add "a" to masculine
ex. senor --> senora, doctor --> doctora
3.Essentially same - change article
ex. un estudiante --> una estudiante, el joven --> la joven, el dentista --> la dentista
4. Totally different
ex. hombre (man) --> mujer (woman), el actor --> la actriz, el rey --> la reina (king --> queen)
You can usually tell gender by the las letter, o = male, a = female. If the last letter is not "o" or "a" your best bet is masculine!
ar endings:
1.Yo --> O 1. Nosotros--> Amos
2.Tu --> As 2. Vosotros --> Ais (In South American countries they don't use this form. This is only usend in Spain.)
3.El,La,Un,Una --> A 3. Ellos,Ellas,Las, Los etc. --> An
Example: Verb --> Cantar "to sing"
1. To canto 1. Nos. cantamos
2.Tu cantas 2. Vosotros cantais
3. El canta 3. Ellos cantan
